Has anyone out there tried a product called "Curb Juice"? I have seen it on a couple of web sites. They make it sound good, but it is expensive,($299.00 for 5 gallons). It is supposed to make troweling easier. Also has any one tried using plaster sand in your mix rather than concrete sand?

Hello Guybird, I appreciate your post to our forum thank you. Now to answer your question regarding the curb juice. I have used it on a few installs in the past and it works okay. Nothing to rave about you can get the same deep impressions in your curbing by just mixing it a bit wetter. Moisture in the mix leads to better stamping and deeper lines by utilizing a rubber mallet. I suggest the product we use called color guard its cheaper and works great! This product has many properties that work well and improves workability. Its made to protect the integral color from fading as it has uv filters, plasticizer, air entrainment additive and helps reduce efflourescence. In my opinion this is a phenominal product and I use it for all colored installs. Regarding your sand question. Please stick to a corse sand and stay away from plaster sands, mason, builder sands pretty much anything that is fine. If you need additional info or would like to ask further questions please post them or email me at jrojas@theconcreteedge.com. thanks again buddy! Jimmie Rojas Product specialist 800-314-9984

Awesome!! Now make sure your dosing procedure is correct. Roughly 8oz per 94 lb bag of cement. The colorguard depending on how you purchased it comes with a 2oz pumper. Use 1 squirt for 1/4 bag mixes and 2 squirts for half bag mixes meaning 47 lbs. This will give you improved workability. If we can assist you with anything else please let us know.
