Concrete landscape edging is easy to install with Lil’ Bubba curb machines!

Here's how to do a complete curb installation without landscape damage, extensive set-ups and clean-ups:

1. Prepare the area where the edging will be installed. Using shovels, a sod cutter or trencher, prepare a trench (one inch deep and nine inches wide) around the landscape edging beds.
2. Prepare the concrete in a mortar mixer. Sand, cement, fiber and water should be used to create the dry mixture used by Lil’ Bubba. Color additives can be mixed in to customize the concrete edging and better match the customer's decor.
3. Shovel the concrete mix into the Lil’ Bubba. The machine will extrude and a continuous, professional landscape border.
4. Smooth out any imperfections on the fresh curb. Each curb style has a specially shaped hand trowel to quickly smooth the curb to perfection.
5. Add control joints every three to four feet to help prevent cracks. You can use patterned stamps to conceal the control joints, as well. With dozens of stamps and rollers available, you can add a huge variety of textures and patterns to the curb.

Training with Lil’ Bubba

Although curbing with Lil’ Bubba machines is fast and easy, it's still important to train before jumping into your first curb installation. Comprehensive training videos are supplied with all equipment purchases, but in our experience there's no substitute for hands-on training with professionals.

Each full-day course is available in English and Spanish, and the courses can be scheduled individually or together. The first course provides hands-on training for the whole curb installation process—ground preparation, mixing, curb installation, and using support equipment. The second course is in a classroom setting and covers marketing, employees, project estimating and general information on running a curbing business.
